I love this bicycle seat bottle opener. I love how simple the design is and how inconspicuous it will look just hanging out under your bike seat. I do wish, however, that there was a way to add a corkscrew to it, too. That way, when you slapped your wine bottle onto your bike, you would be all set to open it. You know you want one.

Clocking in at just a tad uglier than the Monster Bike and perhaps far more practical: the guy behind the Whymcycle Express, and whymcycles, is my new hero. For lack of better words, here are his:
Stock fork surpassed by adding rear 2/3′s of a full suspension mountain bike as the springer front end. Double rimmed drum brake 16″ laced to 26″ alloy, get us height, braking and with plastic lawn sign in between the spokes, a dandy rudder!! Also tripled up on Torrington freewheeling axel bearings for the rear drive component. 3 of them with 6 all-thread bolts thru their sprocket teeth, making them act as one, ideally reducing by 2/3′s the strain on each one..also bolted by the 6 all-threads, a 65 tooth Schwinn Exerciser cog..dune/mud/hillclimb to test them this weekend @ the da Vinci Days Kinetic Sculpture Race in Corvallis. OR.
That fork innovation’s going onto my full suspension tallie Real soon….Rear wheel ‘overwheels’ are 40″ trampolines for mud/sand/water paddle wheels….shall see if they survive the test weekend also….

While the Monsterbike may not be the best for tackling hills or going fast, it would certainly teach an important lesson to anyone who doesn’t check their mirror before opening their car door.

The ritual dropping of the ball in New York’s Times Square on New Year’s eve, seen on television by millions around the world, is becoming a bit greener than in years past.
The 2-0-0-9 sign that will light up when the New Year’s ball finishes its descent will be powered by batteries charged by people pedaling on bicycles.
Let’s hope the whole event this year will be powered by bikes (so far they’ve collected 35% of the necessary power).
In local news, the Fort Collins bike library has plans to quadruple the number of bikes it has available for loan.
The manager of the Old Town Square branch said people have actually darted away from half-eaten meals in the plaza to snag a newly returned bike. Another woman was so reluctant to return it that the police were nearly called, he said.
Homeless people are using the bike library to ride to job interviews! How cool!
Ha ha! This is so true, at least it was for me when I first started commuting by bicycle. After a while you collect all the gear you need.
Our friends in Hawaii sent this one in. It’s a pretty cool looking clock available over on Etsy.com. From their description:
